Year 11 Exams Information Evening 2022

We would like to thank those parents and carers who attended the Year 11 Exams Information Evening, held in school last Thursday evening.

We understand that Year 11 is often a difficult year for pupils and parents and, even with the best and most diligent preparation, pupils are likely to experience some challenges and anxieties along the way.

Of course, there is no substitute for making the most of every lesson with their teacher, but the most successful performance also comes from a significant amount of further study and revision throughout the year and having strategies in place to manage wellbeing throughout the process.

During the information evening, we shared an overview of the key dates and milestones in the year, to give parents an understanding of the things we will be doing at school to prepare pupils for this summer’s exams.

Alongside this, we offered advice on the best ways for pupils to study effectively at home and how parents might try to support them, both with their revision and their mental health.

In addition, our Heads of Faculty for English, maths and science shared key information and tips relating to the core subjects, which account for five or six of the GCSE grades awarded and have the biggest impact on pupils’ opportunities for further study in the next phase of their education.

Please find a link to the PowerPoint presentation below with details on how to support your child, where to access information, recommended revision guides, and tips and guidance on revision techniques.
