Our U16 girls’ badminton team put on an exceptional performance in the County Finals at Shrewsbury Sports Village last Friday, earning them a well-deserved victory.

Competing in their group, the team played a total of 25 matches and impressively lost only one. Their dominance continued in the knockout stage, where they faced Bishop’s Castle and secured a convincing 4-1 win.

PE Teacher, Miss Eyre, praised the team’s achievement, saying: “It was a true team effort, with every player demonstrating outstanding skill and determination.”

“The girls did incredibly well, but the icing on the cake was hearing event organisers commend the girls for their sportsmanship and politeness throughout the competition.”

The team will now go on to represent Shropshire at the Midlands Regionals on Thursday — best of luck to the girls!
