Headteacher’s Easter Message

The spring term has been extremely busy, culminating in the spectacular school show ‘We Will Rock You.’ I was immensely proud of all the pupils and staff involved in mounting this ambitious production, which showcased our talented students.

It was also wonderful to welcome the local primary schools in to watch the matinée performance on the Thursday afternoon and hear their screams of excitement echoing around the building.

Our Year 7 boys have reached the President’s Trophy Final in football, defeating Meole Brace in the semi-finals, which is just one of the term’s sporting highlights where our students have demonstrated their skills and talents.

Our library is looking refreshed with new books and furniture, and our students are benefiting from an increased focus on reading. Every week, they are being encouraged to drop everything and read as we know the positive impact that reading has on their education.

As we approach ever closer to the start of the GCSE exam period, I would like to take this opportunity to remind Year 11s that only by revising will they achieve their potential and beyond. I encourage our students to take advantage of the numerous revision sessions hosted over the Easter holidays as, on our return to school, there are only four weeks until the start of the first exam.

As the days are getting lighter and we approach summer, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a happy Easter and I look forward to seeing all our pupils in the new term.

Best wishes

Headteacher
