Bridgnorth Endowed is celebrating a fantastic double achievement this month: Mr Noble, our PE teacher and cricket coach, has been named Secondary School Teacher of the Year, and the school itself has been recognised as Secondary School of the Year at the Shropshire Cricket Board Awards 2025.
During the ceremony, Cricket Development Coach Tim Bellett spoke about the school’s impact, saying the award “goes to a secondary school and a teacher who have made cricket a real force within their school community.”
He continued: “This year, Bridgnorth Endowed welcomed us in to run a pilot programme, a bold step that has helped shape how we now offer cricket packages to secondary schools across the county.”
“Their pupils didn’t just take part – they stepped up. Many completed a Young Leaders programme and then supported several primary school competitions, taking on roles such as managing teams, scoring, and umpiring matches. It has been fantastic to see them grow in confidence and leadership through cricket.”
“Driving all of this is Rory Noble, a teacher who is constantly pushing to make cricket more accessible and more embedded in school life. His passion and commitment have opened doors for so many students and are helping to build a sustainable cricket culture at Bridgnorth Endowed.”
Mr Noble attended the awards with a group of students who have excelled in cricket this season, celebrating the teamwork, leadership, and enthusiasm that define their success.

Dozens of other awards were also presented during the evening, including the Female Performance Award, which went to Year 11 BES student Isabelle Crann.
Cricket Shropshire Coaching and Pathway Manager Ed Ashlin said: “Isabelle had a hugely successful summer with wickets aplenty. She played across multiple age groups and took a total of 43 wickets. As a young leg spinner, the control and skill were there for everyone to see, but her calm temperament also stands out as a clear strength. She was particularly impressive within our Women’s 1st XI, often taking key wickets at important stages of the game.”
The ceremony, held on Friday 7th November 2025 at The Shropshire Golf Centre in Telford, was an inspiring celebration of the sport, bringing together volunteers, coaches, players, officials, and supporters from across Shropshire cricket.
Congratulations to Mr Noble, Isabelle, and all our talented young cricketers – shining examples of what dedication, passion, and love of the game can achieve.
