Congratulations to our top team of swimmers who came second in the West Midland Qualifiers held at Malvern College last Tuesday.
The four boys and four girls produced some excellent performances in the medley and freestyle relay events and it’s hoped that the boys’ times could take them to the English Schools National Finals in Birmingham next month.
As members of Northgate Swimming Club, the elite swimmers are used to competing regularly and put in plenty of practice with at least five two-hour sessions a week.
PE teacher, Miss Rock, said: “We’re waiting with bated breathe to hear whether the boys have secured a place in the ESSA Secondary Schools’ Team Championships.”
“It would be a fantastic opportunity for them to experience Birmingham’s Commonwealth Aquatics Centre and compete against the top swimmers in the country.”
