Amelie Serves Up Success at Worfield Tennis Club

Amelie with the trophy for winning the Ladies Doubles at Worfield Tennis Club

We’re delighted to share the fantastic news that Amelie Kemshall-Wall, from Year 8, recently attended a presentation evening at Worfield Tennis Club, where she proudly received the trophy for the Worfield Club Ladies Doubles Championship alongside her partner, Sally Grainger.

Amelie’s mum believes she might be the first junior ever to win this adult competition, which makes the achievement even more special. The pair went unbeaten throughout the tournament, winning the title without dropping a single set.

Amelie is a committed member of Worfield Tennis Club and, recognising her talent, her coach, Dan Nicholson, encouraged her to trial for the Tennis Shropshire County Girls’ team. Having earned a place in the squad, she has progressed from the U12s to the U14s and looks forward to representing the county in both singles and doubles next year.

More recently, Amelie joined the performance tennis training programme in Shrewsbury, where she now trains three times a week under her new coach, Matt Lee. As a left-hander, she is working on making the most of that tricky left-handed serve and forehand, and she is already training hard in preparation for the upcoming tournaments in the new year.

Amelie dreams of becoming a professional tennis player and loves being part of the sport, which has helped her make lots of new friends along the way.

We’re incredibly proud of her hard work, attitude and success. Well done, Amelie!
