Houses Battle It Out at Sports Day 2026

Friday morning brought the four houses together for Bridgnorth Endowed’s annual Sports Day, each competing for the coveted Sports Day Trophy. Although the day started with grey, cloudy skies, it wasn’t long before the sun broke through, brightening the field and bringing the event to life.

From the very beginning, there was a real buzz in the air. The whole school was involved, and it all kicked off with the much-loved house parade. Students proudly showed off their house colours, waving flags and cheering each other on – it was impossible not to get swept up in the excitement.

Then came the action! There was something for everyone, from fast-paced sprints and thrilling relay races to field events like archery and shot put. Whether competing or cheering from the sidelines, everyone played their part in creating a lively and supportive atmosphere.

Later on, things got even more intense with the tug-of-war competition – always a crowd pleaser. There were plenty of laughs, some brute force, and lots of determination on display.

When it all came down to the final scores, it couldn’t have been closer, with just five points separating first and second place. In a surprise twist, Veritas Reds clinched the win for the first time in a decade, sparking huge celebrations.

Congratulations also go to Eliza from Year 8, who was presented with the Ben Roberts Award for Outstanding Sporting Achievement/Endeavour.

It was a truly fantastic day, full of energy, team spirit and friendly rivalry. Definitely one students and staff will be talking about for a long time!
