Spray Paint and Street Style in Bristol

On Monday, our Year 9 and 10 art students swapped the classroom for the streets of Bristol, diving straight into one of the UK’s most exciting street art scenes. From spotting iconic artworks to creating their own bold designs, the trip was packed with creativity, energy and inspiration.

The day started with a guided Street Art Tour, where students walked through the city to see a range of real street artworks, including well-known pieces by Banksy. They learnt about his journey as an artist and how Bristol became famous around the world for its street art.

Students then took part in a Stencil Art Spray Painting Workshop, where they used safe, water-based spray paints to create their own designs. Everyone had the chance to produce a stencil artwork to take home, experimenting with new techniques along the way.

In the afternoon, students enjoyed the “Graffititude” Digital Graffiti Workshop. Using their phones, they explored graffiti-style lettering and designed their own digital “tags,” which were then shown on big screens.

Overall, it was a fantastic day that sparked new ideas and encouraged students to see art in the world around them.
