Year 10 Enjoy an Inspiring Day at Telford Skills Show

Our Year 10 students enjoyed an inspiring and interactive day at the Telford Skills Show 2026, exploring all kinds of career pathways and hands‑on activities at the Telford International Centre last Thursday.

As they moved around the event, students chatted with employers, colleges, universities, and training providers from across the region. They got stuck into a range of practical activities too – examining a veterinary training cow, taking on an army‑style physical challenge, trying plumbing and construction tasks, and learning new skills in the medical and healthcare zones.

Throughout the day, students spoke with people working in different industries, picked up advice about apprenticeships and further education, and discovered career ideas they hadn’t considered before. Many left feeling inspired and more confident about their next steps.

Events like this are incredibly useful for students, giving them the chance to explore real‑world options in an engaging and meaningful way. Seeing different careers up close and being able to ask questions directly to the people doing the jobs helps them make more informed choices about future study routes and the paths they may want to follow after Year 11.

It was a great chance for Year 10 to explore life beyond the classroom, and they represented the school brilliantly.
