We are incredibly proud to announce that Year 11 student and football star, Archie Williams, has been offered a two-year scholarship at West Bromwich Albion’s Academy – one of the most significant milestones a young footballer in England can achieve.
The gifted 16-year-old, who has been part of the WBA Academy since the age of six, has demonstrated exceptional commitment to the game through rigorous training regimes and weekly competitive fixtures.
Archie will officially sign his scholarship in May, beginning a full-time programme that combines professional-level football training with continued education. This achievement marks him as one of the country’s most promising young talents and places him firmly on the pathway between academy football and a potential professional contract.
A Full-Time Football & Education Journey
As part of the scholarship, Archie will join West Brom’s highly respected academy setup, where he will follow a full and demanding weekly schedule. His days will be centred around professional football training with top-level coaches, supported by a structured education programme.
He will also take part in thorough pre-match preparation, including video analysis, fitness work and tactical sessions designed to help him perform at the highest level. Alongside this, Archie will play regular matches in competitions, including the U17 National Youth League, the U18 Premier League, and the FA Youth Cup.
To support his development both on and off the pitch, Archie will live with a host family, giving him the routine, stability and independence required for life as a full-time ‘academy scholar’.

A Future in the Game
Archie’s success is finally turning everything he’s worked for into a reality, especially now that he’s signed with an elite FIFA-registered football agent who will be fielding future professional contracts on his behalf.
During his scholarship, Archie will receive payment, as scholars are contracted and recognised as part of the club’s performance pathway.
His ultimate dream is to play professionally for West Bromwich Albion, a team his dad, Olly, and grandad, Rob, also supports – making this moment especially meaningful for the whole family.
A Remarkable Achievement
Being offered a scholarship at West Bromwich Albion’s Academy places Archie in the top tier of young footballers nationwide. It represents the club’s belief in his potential and gives him the platform to pursue a future in the professional game.
We couldn’t be prouder of Archie’s dedication, hard work and ambition.
Congratulations, Archie – we can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings!
