We’re delighted to share the news that a second Bridgnorth Endowed School pupil was presented with a Young Good Citizen award by West Mercia Police last Thursday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logan Pope, from Year 9, received the award from Sergeant Kate \u00d8en and PCSO Mandy Leek for a long list of merits, including fundraising, volunteering and, most importantly, being involved in the care of his sister Esti, who has autism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mum Pippa explained: \u201cLogan and Esti have always been very close so it\u2019s not something that\u2019s expected of him, it\u2019s something that comes naturally. We call him her ‘interpreter of life’.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re so proud of him and he definitely deserves this award as he has a big heart and is always thinking of others despite his own struggles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logan also finds the time to volunteer at a local youth club and every year, since the age of 7, he has come up with a new fundraising project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in March 2020, Logan completed a two-hour pianothon and raised over \u00a3500 playing all sorts of tunes, from the Entertainer to Land of Hope and Glory, and plenty of songs from the hit musical Les Mis\u00e9rables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The money went to the Little Rascals Foundation \u2013 a Shropshire-based charity that supports children with disabilities and their families, and a cause that’s close to Logan’s heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the charity, Pippa said: \u201cLittle Rascals is a fabulous organisation that provides practical support for children with special educational needs, and an ear for their parents. They just \u2018get it\u2019 which is crucial for families like ours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, Logan organised a fundraiser where people could request a song for a donation, and he then played their song choice on the piano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A keen piano player whose piano was on its last legs, he raised money for a new digital piano and still managed to donate \u00a3200 to Little Rascals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
