{"id":8043,"date":"2021-08-12T17:16:55","date_gmt":"2021-08-12T16:16:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/?p=8043"},"modified":"2021-08-16T11:10:28","modified_gmt":"2021-08-16T10:10:28","slug":"gcse-results-day-2021","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/gcse-results-day-2021\/","title":{"rendered":"GCSE Results Day 2021"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"346\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/GCSE-21-13.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8062\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/GCSE-21-13.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/GCSE-21-13-300x208.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption>Y11 students (left to right): Maegan Tew, Zara Cartwright, Daisy Turner and Chloe Hunt<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s long-awaited GCSE results delivered a mixture of relief and celebration for Year 11 students at Bridgnorth Endowed School this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the face of extraordinary and challenging circumstances, BES\u2019s class of 2021 produced some considerable achievements of which they can be very proud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This group of students adapted to online learning, periods in isolation and the switch from exams to Teacher Assessed Grades, which saw their work highly scrutinised throughout the rigorous process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drive to battle on regardless and continue to perform to the best of their ability has led to some tremendous accomplishments and a well-deserved set of results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special congratulations go to Evie Davies, who achieved seven grade 9s, one grade 8 and one grade 7, and is heading off to King Edward\u2019s to study Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Geography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well done to Thomas Banks who\u2019s also moving on to King Edward\u2019s to study Biology, Psychology and History, following an impressive two grade 9s, eight grade 8s and one grade 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eric Fierro received an exceptional set of results and is off to Shrewsbury Colleges Group to do A Level Maths, Electronics and ICT with the aim of getting into robotics, and Grace Jones, who also achieved high grades, will study A Level Biology, Spanish and English Literature at King Edward\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emily Ashling scored top marks across the board and has her sights set on training to become a paramedic after undertaking A Levels in Biology, Psychology and Geography at King Edward\u2019s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other success stories include Fergus Edwards, who has gained a sought-after place to study Performing Arts at Birmingham\u2019s BOA Academy, and Joseph Hiam, who will complete a Level 3 Uniformed Public Services course before applying to Harrogate\u2019s Military College with aspirations to join the Royal Engineers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Headteacher, Mr Worth, said: \u201cI can\u2019t praise these students enough for their hard work and dedication during what has been an extremely unpredictable year. They have demonstrated courage, positivity and resilience, and are an inspiration to us all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d also like to thank our wonderful staff for going above and beyond what is normally expected by providing extra support and encouragement, and ensuring that students continued to produce work of exceptional quality to the end.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe wish all of our
