To celebrate World Book Day on 4th March, Bridgnorth Endowed students were invited to ‘get crafty’ and bring their favourite fictional characters to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After receiving an assortment of highly creative and imaginative ideas, based on some terrific tales, judges finally revealed the results earlier this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to Evie Power from Year 8 for scooping the top prize with her Coraline cloth doll and Mog the Cat soft toy, which she made by hand from a YouTube tutorial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming in second, was Year 8 pupil, Sienna Turner, who also submitted two fantastic pieces \u2013 a Willy Wonka-themed chocolate cake and an Agatha Oddly scene in a jar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Year 7’s Isabelle Wedgbury then took third place for her beautifully-made clay whale from the much-loved children’s book, \u2018The Snail and the Whale\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special commendations were also given to Mia Campbell Spence, Sam Lewis, Charlotte Cotterill and Elliot Wilbury, for their inspired creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Book Day has now been going for 26 years and, although 2021 was celebrated a little differently, the powerful and positive message about books and reading prevailed, even in lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
