Royal Air Force Officer and former BES student Rosie Barrow<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Bridgnorth Endowed School is proud to share the news that former student and Royal Air Force Officer, Rosie Barrow (n\u00e9e Addison), has been named as \u2018Mentor of the Year\u2019 at the 2020 Women of the Future Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The announcement, made early last month, highly commended Rosie for being \u201ca trailblazer who repeatedly demonstrates that women have an important role to play in this male-dominated environment.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supported by big names such as HRH the Countess of Wessex and Cherie Blair, the prestigious Women of the Future Awards are a platform to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the UK\u2019s pipeline of female talent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now in her eleventh year in the RAF, Rosie commands the squadron charged with being the first footprint for medical support on the ground in the event of a worldwide incident; be it military operations or assistance with humanitarian support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since joining the Tactical Medical Wing in 2019, she has made a huge impact as leader of this critical unit, which is responsible for training and supporting medical personnel to be able to meet the demands of a wide range of challenging operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most recently, during the current coronavirus crisis, Rosie\u2019s personnel were \u2018stood up\u2019 for multiple operations around the globe, as well as supporting the COVID-19 response in this country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the first evacuation flights of UK nationals from Wuhan in January 2020 to positions in the Nightingale Hospitals, Rosie\u2019s team and members of Tactical Medical Wing have been delivering at pace in support of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to Rosie on winning the award and for her incredible career achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
