{"id":623,"date":"2018-10-10T10:02:06","date_gmt":"2018-10-10T09:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/?p=623"},"modified":"2019-07-15T14:37:16","modified_gmt":"2019-07-15T13:37:16","slug":"arts-award-for-year-10-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/arts-award-for-year-10-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Arts Award for Year 10 Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_636\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-636\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-636 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Arts_award3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"337\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Arts_award3.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/Arts_award3-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-636\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Year 10 students pictured with their Bronze Arts Award certificates<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Earlier this week, a staggering 95 Year 10 students were awarded certificates for successfully achieving the Bronze Arts Award.<\/p>\n<p>Pupils had worked on this highly recognised Level 1 arts qualification during their art, music and drama lessons throughout Year 9.<\/p>\n<p>The award, which is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England, is open to anyone aged 11 to 25, and embraces a broad range of art forms \u2013 from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Art, Mrs Lisa Tristham, comments: \u201cAs Year 9 is the last school year before options, this means some students will choose not to continue with their arts education into GCSE.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor this reason, I\u2019m keen for the whole year group to have the opportunity to gain an arts qualification, and develop creative and communication skills that are essential for success in today\u2019s world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s important for them to connect with and take part in the wider arts to get a real understanding of the importance of the arts in our lives. The Arts Award does just that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To achieve a Bronze Arts Award, young people need to gather evidence in an individual arts log or portfolio, demonstrating their experiences of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>actively participating in any art form<\/li>\n<li>at least one arts event and their review of that event<\/li>\n<li>researching the career and work of an artist or craftsperson<\/li>\n<li>passing on an arts skill<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Well done to everyone for their hard work and enthusiasm for the project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this week, a staggering 95 Year 10 students were awarded certificates for successfully achieving the Bronze Arts Award.
