Simpson who achieved top grades at GCSE<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Bridgnorth Endowed\u2019s class of 2020 is celebrating an\noutstanding set of GCSE results with a mixture of joy and relief, following an\nunprecedented period of school disruption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These are students who came into the year looking forward to\na significant educational milestone, only to find the usual rites of passage wiped\nout by COVID-19 in an instant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, teachers have praised their perseverance as they continued working diligently during the lockdown to provide further evidence to prove their attainment and fill any study gaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully, their significant efforts have been rewarded with some exceptional grades, allowing them to take the all-important next steps towards their post-16 education or training choices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s school leavers are now poised to study a range of courses at popular destinations, including Shrewsbury Colleges Group, King Edward\u2019s in Stourbridge, Thomas Telford Sixth Form and Telford College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among the successes at Bridgnorth Endowed was star student, James\nLitchfield, who achieved an impressive eight Grade 9s and one Grade 8, with\nplans to move on to King Edward\u2019s in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special congratulations also go to Anthony Simpson, who is due\nto study A Level French, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology at Thomas Telford,\nafter gaining four Grade 9s and five Grade 8s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image across all subjects, and\nwill go on to study A Level Maths, Economics and German at Thomas Telford,\nwhilst classmate Jessica Chance is heading to Old Swinford Hospital to take\nEnglish Literature, Psychology and PE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amelia Reynolds achieved four 9s, two 8s and three 7s, and Fabian Stallard-Gorton, who also received an excellent set of results, is off to King Edward\u2019s to study A Levels in Maths, Chemistry and PE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other inspiring stories include Lucy Leith, who has secured\na highly sought-after place at Birmingham\u2019s BOA Academy to study Performing Arts,\nand horse-enthusiast, Elle Brickley, who will do A Levels at Shrewsbury with\nambitions of becoming an equine vet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A small group of students will be embarking on a variety of exciting apprenticeship opportunities, such as Alfie Edwards, who will train with Shrewsbury-based gunmaker Midlands Gun Services while completing an engineering qualification at The Marches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Headteacher, Mr Worth, comments: \u201cI am exceptionally proud of our Year 11s for the positive way they have conducted themselves, despite missing out on so much in their final year of school.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d also like to give my heartfelt thanks to our teaching staff who have worked extremely hard, and endured many sleepless nights, to make sure
