{"id":5735,"date":"2020-07-16T09:51:10","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T08:51:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/?p=5735"},"modified":"2020-07-16T10:03:59","modified_gmt":"2020-07-16T09:03:59","slug":"rowley-triumphs-in-house-cup-contest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/rowley-triumphs-in-house-cup-contest\/","title":{"rendered":"Rowley Triumphs in House Cup Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image alignright\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"459\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/House-Cup-2020.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5736\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/House-Cup-2020.jpg 459w, https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/House-Cup-2020-275x300.jpg 275w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px\" \/><figcaption>Rowley House captains Tomos Pearce (left)  and  Hannah Tranter (right)<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>After three weeks of the houses making the final push towards securing the highly-coveted House Cup, the results are in and there\u2019s quite literally a hair\u2019s breadth between the three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rowley wins with <strong>385.09<\/strong> points, closely followed by Hardwicke with <strong>385.01<\/strong> and, less than three points behind, Washbrook takes the third-place spot with <strong>382.15<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tightly fought contest demanded a change in counting\nprocedures, as grand totals were divided by the number of students in each\nhouse to separate the three as fairly as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scores came from a range of categories, including classroom behaviour points up to March, attitude to learning grades, attendance, work completed in lockdown, the virtual house competitions and other events such as the Food Bank collection and MFL Bake Off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head of Rowley, Mrs Tristham, commented: \u201cAfter four long years, the red ribbons have finally returned to the House Cup. The competition was very tight but it was the student and staff involvement in the biathlon that tipped us over the finish line and into the winning position.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDuring an extraordinary year, where schools have\nexperienced huge disruption, Rowley students and teachers have shown\nexceptional resilience and determination to overcome these setbacks and\nmaintain a strong house identity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To members of Rowley House, Mrs tristham, added: \u201cI would like to thank you all and let you know I am incredibly proud of you \u2013 even this global pandemic could not deter us in our fight to win the cup.
