{"id":5643,"date":"2020-07-14T12:41:39","date_gmt":"2020-07-14T11:41:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/?p=5643"},"modified":"2020-07-14T16:47:14","modified_gmt":"2020-07-14T15:47:14","slug":"maddie-dances-her-way-to-success-in-online-competitions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/maddie-dances-her-way-to-success-in-online-competitions\/","title":{"rendered":"Maddie Dances Her Way to Success in Online Competitions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image alignright\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maddie.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5644\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maddie.jpg 375w, https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Maddie-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><figcaption>Year 7 pupil, Maddie Iddles, with her dance trophies and medals<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Determined not to let lockdown affect her progress in dance, Year 7 student, Maddie Iddles, soon discovered that competing online was the way to go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past few months, she has entered a total of 11 virtual\ncompetitions and achieved a prize haul of 10 trophies and 11 medals for clinching\nfour firsts, seven seconds and three thirds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the impact of coronavirus halted all dance classes and live performances, a vast number of exciting competitions began to emerge in the online arena. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The format is simple \u2013 dancers send in videos of their routines for the judges to assess and either rank according to their final score or move up to the next round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dancing since the age of five, Maddie has taken part in a variety of these competitions from all around the globe, including Nexstar, Dance Equality, Rainbow Stars and Stomp the Yard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The twelve-year-old dance enthusiast is also a member of the Sophie Elizabeth Dance Academy, where she specialises in styles ranging from Hip Hop to Jazz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maddie\u2019s mum, Susan, said: \u201cWe&#8217;re so proud of how hard Maddie has worked during lockdown. She&#8217;s taken her dance to the next level in terms of confidence and flexibility, as well as rising to the challenge with her school work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHer home learning has been going really well and we\u2019d like\nto thank the school for all of the encouraging emails we\u2019ve received about her\nschool work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The best of luck to Maddie, who is currently taking part in a competition called \u2018The Joy of Dancing: Part 2\u2019, the results of which will be announced in around a week\u2019s time.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Determined not to let lockdown affect her progress in dance, Year 7 student, Maddie Iddles, soon discovered that competing online was the way to go.
