The first week of the Virtual House Competition 2020 has seen plenty of movement in the rankings, with Hardwicke seizing the top spot from Rowley after just two days and Washbrook catching up to joint second place by Day 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All three houses battled it out in the first round, which saw pupils working incredibly hard to complete a number of PE meets maths challenges individually from their homes throughout the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students were tasked with exercises that ranged from press ups and squats, to running the 140-metre length of Lord\u2019s cricket ground and climbing the equivalent of the world\u2019s tallest building \u2013 the Burj Khalifa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Designed to keep minds active as well as bodies, the maths part of the programme called on estimation, division and other basic numeracy skills, using the stats recorded from each of the activities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Week one of the competition ends with Hardwicke leading on 130 points, and Rowley and Washbrook neck and neck with 101 points each. Well done to all of the students that took part this week, but the race continues on Monday as the houses embark on a three-day virtual sports day event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
