At Bridgnorth Endowed, we take the health and safety of our pupils and staff very seriously, so we\u2019re sharing&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-guidance-to-assist-professionals-in-advising-the-general-public\/guidance-to-assist-professionals-in-advising-the-general-public\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guidance from Public Health England<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;on steps you should be taking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s currently no cause for concern at the school, but we\u2019ll keep you informed about any developments and ensure we\u2019re keeping the school clean to prevent the spread of any virus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prevent the spread of infection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure you and your children follow these general principles to prevent spreading any respiratory virus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wash your hands often \u2013 with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or an alcohol-based sanitiser if soap and water aren\u2019t available<\/li><li>Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands<\/li><li>Avoid close contact with people who are sick<\/li><li>If you feel unwell, stay at home and don\u2019t attend work or school<\/li><li>Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in a bin<\/li><li>Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces in the home<\/li><li>If you\u2019re worried about your symptoms, please call NHS 111 \u2013 don\u2019t go directly to your GP or other healthcare environment<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you or your children have returned from anywhere in Hubei province in the last 14 days<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you or your children are currently well:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with flu viruses<\/li><li>Call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the area<\/li><li>Your other family members don\u2019t need to take any precautions or make any changes to their own activities<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you become unwell:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Please call NHS 111 immediately in order for you to be assessed by an appropriate specialist in hospital, as quickly as possible<\/li><li>Follow the&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/wuhan-novel-coronavirus-self-isolation-for-patients-undergoing-testing\/advice-sheet-home-isolation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">home isolation advice sheet<\/a><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>If you or your children have returned from a specified country or area in the last 14 days<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please refer to the current list of&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/covid-19-specified-countries-and-areas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">specified countries and areas<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you or your children are well:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You don\u2019t need to avoid contact with other people<\/li><li>Your other family members don\u2019t need to take any precautions or make any changes to their own activities<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you become unwell:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with other flu viruses<\/li><li>Follow the&nbsp;<strong><a noopener\">home isolation advice sheet<\/a><\/strong><\/li><li>Call NHS 111 immediately in order for you to be assessed by an appropriate specialist in hospital, as quickly as possible<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Symptoms to look out for<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should look for any of the following symptoms in the 14 days after the day you return from&nbsp;<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/covid-19-specified-countries-and-areas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">specified countries and areas<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cough<\/li><li>Difficulty in breathing<\/li><li>Fever (a temperature of 38 degrees C or higher)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any of these symptoms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>If it\u2019s an emergency, call 999 and tell them which country you have returned from in the past 14 days<\/li><li>If you\u2019re unwell, but it\u2019s not an emergency, call NHS 111 and tell them which country you have returned from in the past 14 days<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>While you wait for further advice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Avoid contact with others<\/li><li>Stay at home \u2013 don\u2019t go to work or school<\/li><li>Don\u2019t travel while sick<\/li><li>Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing, then throw tissues in the bin<\/li><li>Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (or an alcohol-based sanitiser if soap and water aren\u2019t available)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Department for Education<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department for Education has launched a new helpline to answer questions about COVID-19 related to education.
