Year 11 students on their three-day Silver Practice Expedition in the White Peak District<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Just before half term, a number of Year 11s embarked on their second Silver Practice Expedition, which took place in the spectacular White Peak District.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to heavy rain in the days prior, the campsite was extremely muddy; something that posed a new challenge for the students.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the expedition itself enjoyed fine weather and the students mostly navigated the route very well. The changing trees added to the beauty of the area and we saw Dovedale and Wetton Hill at their best.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spirits were high and even the 5.30am get-up on the Saturday morning did not deter the group, who packed up efficiently in the dark and then set out into the dawn on the last leg of their journey.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Altogether, they covered 30 miles over the three days, in conditions very different to those on the Long Mynd last summer. The challenge now is to complete the other three sections of the Award before the Qualifying Expedition next July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
