{"id":3764,"date":"2019-11-14T10:10:45","date_gmt":"2019-11-14T10:10:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/?p=3764"},"modified":"2019-11-14T10:12:15","modified_gmt":"2019-11-14T10:12:15","slug":"year-10-students-receive-arts-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/year-10-students-receive-arts-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Year 10 Students Receive Arts Award"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image alignright\"><figure class=\"alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"346\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Bronze-Arts-Award-2019.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3767\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Bronze-Arts-Award-2019.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/11\/Bronze-Arts-Award-2019-300x189.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><figcaption>Left to right: Poppy Bingham, Fergus Edwards, Chloe Hunt and Daisy Turner<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A group of sixty Year 10 students received their well-deserved Bronze Arts Awards at a presentation held in school just before the half term break.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Open to young people aged between 11 and 25, the award embraces a broad range of art forms \u2013 from fashion to fine art, pottery to poetry.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve this nationally-recognised qualification, the students are asked to put together a detailed portfolio to demonstrate their personal experiences of the arts.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Top students, Poppy, Fergus, Chloe and Daisy (pictured right), who all plan to continue pursuing their love of the arts after GCSE, found working towards the award extremely rewarding.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the task, the four completed a six-week workshop and developed their skills in a number of visual arts, including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, graphics and presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They  also wrote a review for an arts event they\u2019d attended, researched someone involved in the arts that inspires them, and passed on an arts skill to another pupil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Head of Creative Arts, Mrs Tristham, said: \u201cWe have some great artists at Bridgnorth Endowed School and I\u2019d like to congratulate all of these students on their hard work and enthusiasm for the Arts Award.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d particularly like to mention Fergus Edwards who gets involved in all kinds of creative arts projects and is also a super role model for the younger pupils.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHe shows a great deal of talent in art and music, but is especially passionate about drama, which is where his future aspirations possibly lie.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A group of sixty Year 10 students received their well-deserved Bronze Arts Awards at a presentation held in school just before the half term break.
