Bridgnorth Endowed School is delighted to announce an excellent year of GCSE results with some outstanding performances from many students.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top grades were gained across the board and, in particular, the pass rate in English and maths saw an impressive 12% increase on last year\u2019s figure.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special congratulations go to Harry Pennington, who achieved two grade 9s, three 7s and five 6s, and Martha Jones, who got one grade 9, three 8s, four 7s and two 6s.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kai-Ya Cowan scored top marks with a grade 9 in chemistry together with 8s in both French and Spanish, and will go on to study A Level biology, chemistry and psychology at Thomas Telford.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael Betteridge received an exceptional set of results and is off to King Edward\u2019s to do A Level geography, psychology and English literature, and Alice Wood, who achieved five 8s, two 7s and three 6s, will study A Level economics, history and Spanish, also at King Edward\u2019s.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other success stories include Madison Holland, who has been selected for the Oxbridge Programme at Shrewsbury College where she will study A Level biology, chemistry, Spanish and English. Her ambitious plans of becoming a marine biologist are now well underway as she has also just received her PADI Open Water Diver licence, which means she is able to dive anywhere in the world.

Headteacher, Mr Barry Worth, comments: \u201cI am extremely proud of our pupils and staff. Their hard work, preparation and dedication has truly paid off and it\u2019s wonderful to see so many students securing grades that will unlock the doors to their next steps.\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the sixth form closure, a key focus at the school has been to ensure that the Year 11s benefit from the very best impartial careers guidance, to help them make informed decisions about the full range of post-16 opportunities available to them.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

King Edwards in Stourbridge and the Shrewsbury Colleges Group were amongst the most popular destinations chosen by the cohort of 118 students. Others included Ludlow College, Walford College and the Oldbury Wells Bridgnorth Sixth Form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
