Good luck to languages teacher and triathlete, Ms Miller, who is due to fly out to Russia to take part in the European Championships in less than two weeks.

Even though she began competing in amateur events just six years ago, she has already qualified to represent Great Britain.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Olympic-distance triathlon will involve a 1500m swim, 40km bike ride and a 10km run, so it\u2019s certainly not for the faint-hearted.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI love the challenge of the three sports and going from swimming to cycling and then on to a run,\u201d she says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s the endurance aspect too. You\u2019ve got to have the grit and determination to push yourself and keep going.\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although she was already a keen runner and swimmer, she had never ridden a road bike before she began taking part in the events.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI qualified for the European Championships in Glasgow last year and now I\u2019m off to Russia,\u201d says the 38-year-old, who competes in around 10 to 12 triathlons and aquathlons each year.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI started doing a few local races and I was finishing high up for my age group, so I thought I would set myself the challenge of making GB qualification.\u201d

Balancing her time between looking after her young daughter, her job as a teacher and training, is a big commitment.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an ideal week Ms Miller, who has also recently competed in this year\u2019s Aquathlon World Championships in Pontevedra, Spain and the European Championships in Transylvania, aims to do three hour-long swims, five hours of cycling and two and a half hours of running.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe training is quite intense and I don\u2019t always manage it. I have other priorities, so I don\u2019t beat myself up,\u201d she says.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms Miller will be heading off to represent the GB Age-Group team in the Sprint Distance Triathlon European Championships in Kazan, Russia later this month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
