Art teacher, Mrs Rhodes, is stepping up training towards next month\u2019s London Marathon as she prepares to \u2018warm up\u2019 at the London Landmarks Half Marathon in two weeks\u2019 time.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race takes place in Central London on Sunday 24th March, starting at Pall Mall and finishing near Downing Street, with spectacular views of the city\u2019s most iconic landmarks en route.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Rhodes will be competing at both events with a clear purpose in mind \u2013 to raise money for her poorly little nephew, William.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

William, who is almost two, has severe intractable epilepsy, for which the cause is yet unknown. Every day William suffers hundreds of seizures, even while he\u2019s sleeping, which has markedly affected his development and his ability to do almost anything.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mrs Rhodes comments: \u201cDespite all that William goes through, he is such a brave and wonderful chap who brings endless amounts of joy to our lives. He very much knows what he does and doesn\u2019t like, and is not afraid to let us know about it!\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSadly, William\u2019s condition means that his life is predicted to be limited and therefore we are absolutely committed to making every day meaningful and special.\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne thing William loves is being outdoors in the fresh air, but it\u2019s becoming increasingly difficult for him to join us on walks in the countryside as he\u2019s getting bigger and needs more support than an ordinary buggy provides.\u201d
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For this reason, the fundraising target is for an all-terrain specialist buggy, so William doesn\u2019t have to miss out and we can carry on making wonderful memories with him.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the London Marathon taking place on Sunday 28th April, just seven weeks away, Mrs Rhodes is resolutely pounding the streets in preparation and counting down to the 26.2-mile challenge ahead.
