{"id":17278,"date":"2025-10-13T21:12:49","date_gmt":"2025-10-13T20:12:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/?p=17278"},"modified":"2025-10-17T15:16:50","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T14:16:50","slug":"bridgnorth-endowed-students-shine-at-annual-awards-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/bridgnorth-endowed-students-shine-at-annual-awards-ceremony\/","title":{"rendered":"Bridgnorth Endowed Students Shine at Annual Awards Ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/awards25-main5.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/awards25-main5.jpg 375w, https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/awards25-main5-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Charlie Fletcher from Year 10 who won the STEM Award<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Bridgnorth Endowed School hosted a spectacular evening at St Mary\u2019s Church, where families, staff, alumni, and special guests gathered to celebrate the impressive accomplishments of its students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The annual awards ceremony recognised the achievements of more than 100 students, honouring excellence across all areas of school life \u2013 from academic success and creative talent to sporting triumphs and community involvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s guest speaker, West End performer Erica Ann Deakin, known for her roles in Mamma Mia and Billy Elliot the Musical, captivated the audience with stories from her stage career and reflections on the importance of resilience, passion, and self-belief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding to the evening\u2019s magic were show-stopping performances from six talented students, along with an exciting preview of the school\u2019s upcoming production of <em>The Lion King<\/em>, set to open in March 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Departments across the school nominated two students from each year group, either for high attainment or outstanding effort in their subjects, showcasing the dedication and commitment that define BES.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Awards also recognised excellence in sport, the arts, STEM, community service, and contributions that reflect the school\u2019s five core values: Trust, Aspiration, Kindness, Resilience, and Respect.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/awards25-maininset.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17295\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/awards25-maininset.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.bridgnorthendowed.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/awards25-maininset-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Students Florence Ashby and Denzel Chamberlain performing at the event<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious Headteacher\u2019s Awards to Isobel Onions and Gabriel Quick, two former students acknowledged for their outstanding contributions, leadership, and enduring impact on the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputy Mayor Councillor Rachel Connolly, who attended the event, commended the students on their achievements and personally presented several of the awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Headteacher Mr Michael Penn said: \u201cIt was a wonderful evening, and we were proud to recognise and shine a light on the hard work and successes of our amazing students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cBridgnorth Endowed is a very special school, and this event highlights our drive to recognise and nurture the strengths of every student.
