Adventure was in the air last week as our Year 8 students set off on an exciting visit to Wild Zoological Park in Bobbington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organised by the Science Department, the trip gave students the opportunity to learn about wildlife conservation by getting up-close to a wide variety of animal species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlights of the day included a walk through the lively lemurs, and the chance for a few lucky students to help with feeding time in the lorikeet parrot enclosure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group also enjoyed a Wild Wonders Show<\/em> that featured various mammals, including a skunk, and a spectacular Wild Wings Free Flight Bird Show<\/em>, where the handlers flew some amazing birds over the heads of the audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New this year, students watched the Wild World of Dinosaurs Show<\/em>, which follows the park\u2019s resident palaeontologist as he explores life through the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods, with stunning special effects, puppetry, and animatronics bringing it to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflecting on the day, the Science Department commented: \u201cThe visit was a great success. It provided a fantastic hands-on experience and the students came away with a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation and the natural world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
