A group of keen Year 10 art enthusiasts headed north to find some inspiration and seek out the next big thing in the art world on a school trip to Liverpool Tate last Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The world-renowned gallery, located in the city\u2019s Albert Dock, is home to hundreds of works of art and showcases diverse collections from all over the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their visit, students got the chance to explore submissions from this year\u2019s Turner Prize nominees, finding many of them both fascinating and bizarre, especially the whole-room installations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest of the afternoon was spent browsing around the five-storey gallery to see the free exhibitions that featured a range of creative mediums, including interactive installations, paintings, textiles and photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Head of Creative Arts, Mrs Rhodes, commented: \u201cThis whole-gallery experience enabled students to see far more than they do in the classroom and certainly inspired many of them. They were really engaged and asked lots of questions as they tried to understand works of art and the meaning behind them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
