Launch of Virtual Year 6 Transition Programme

Starting secondary school is a very exciting time but it can also be quite daunting. To prepare Year 6 pupils for this big step, Bridgnorth Endowed runs an effective transition programme to ensure that it’s a smooth and enjoyable experience.

However, with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it has not been possible to hold the usual taster days and new parents’ evening this year. Instead, a virtual approach has been taken to fully support the important journey into Year 7.

A brand-new section has been set up on the website to make sure the introduction to Bridgnorth Endowed is special, despite the current situation. The aim is to cover all of the practical aspects and offer pupils and parents the chance to start to get to know the school.

The section includes a who’s who page to introduce key staff, a video tour of the school, activities to help pupils to prepare for the big move, plus answers to the most frequently asked questions and other essential transition information.

To address any specific questions or concerns, the school is also running a series of ‘Talk Tuesday’ chat sessions for parents to book a phone call or video chat with a member of the BES team.
