A celebratory end-of-term awards assembly was held yesterday afternoon, to recognise the outstanding achievements of Bridgnorth Endowed students.
The whole school came together to shine a light on the pupils that were most improved or had gained the highest grade in each subject across all year groups.
More than 60 learners were presented with certificates for their hard work and dedication over the past term, with several pupils being successful in a number of subjects.
Notably, William Ellison, from Year 8, scooped the highest grade in five subjects, and James Litchfield, from Year 10, took the top spot in four.
Special acknowledgement was also given to the large number of pupils that had achieved 100% for positive behaviour, with the top five point scorers from each house receiving an award.
Two boys were highly commended for their remarkable accomplishments on the Accelerated Reader programme. Sam Hirsch, from Year 7, had clocked up an impressive six-million word count in just 12 months and Ben Haddock, from Year 9, had reached a tally of 7.5 million words over the past three years.
Last but by no means least, the overall house cup winners were revealed as Hardwicke, and Head of House, Mr Middleton duly tied their colours to the prized trophy for the House Captains to lift for the ‘yellows’.
Speaking to the students, Headteacher, Mr Worth, reflected on how rewarding it was to see them go on a five-year journey through the school, starting in Year 7 and leaving as confident, well-rounded young people in Year 11.
He talked about the importance of always striving to do better and how proud he was to see so many students succeeding at Bridgnorth Endowed School.
