Exam Grading Information

Ofqual summer 2020 gradingAs you may be aware, Ofqual has released updated information on the process for grading students in Year 11 and Year 13. They have released a letter to students summarising the key information, which we have attached for you to share with your son or daughter.

Over the coming weeks, we will be working with teachers and heads of department in considering a full range of evidence from across the course to reflect a fair, reasonable and carefully considered judgement of the most likely grade a student would have achieved if they had sat their exams this summer and completed any non-exam assessment.

As suspected, we are not allowed to share teacher assessment grades with students or parents.

You will of course know that we have continued to set work for students over the past two weeks whilst we waited for further information.

Ofqual have specifically stated that students will not be disadvantaged if they were not set, or were unable to complete, any work given out after schools were closed.

We have always held this view and it is reassuring to read this, but we will continue to set revision tasks in the short term and of course we would still welcome submissions from students to their teachers if they wish their work to be considered.
