COVID-19 Information & School Closure Updates → PUPILS SHOULD NOT ATTEND SCHOOL IF THEY, OR ANYONE IN THEIR HOUSEHOLD, HAVE COVID-19 SYMPTOMS
COVID-19 INFORMATION

At Bridgnorth Endowed School, the safety of students and staff is our top priority and to minimise the risks from COVID-19, we have put a whole raft of preventative measures in place. The steps we take are all based on the very latest advice and guidance from the UK Government and Department for Education.

covid 7

Entering the school

Before entering Bridgnorth Endowed School, every person is required to apply the hand sanitiser that is positioned at the main entrance of the building, which is the only point of entry.

covid 9

Track and trace

To support our rigorous track and trace procedures, everyone that comes into the school is asked to sign in with all relevant contact details using the Inventry system.

covid 4

Two-metre distancing

Two-metre signage and floor markings are clearly displayed around the school premises to remind students and staff to maintain social distancing at all times.

covid 5b

One-way system

To help maintain two-metre distancing and minimise risk, a one-way system is in operation. Directional arrows and no entry sign are in place to safely guide pupils and staff around the corridors.

covid 6

Reduced access

Some areas within the school building have been closed off to decrease traffic and minimise use. This helps us to maintain stringent cleaning standards and reduce the risk of contamination.

covid 16

Expert cleaning

Our experienced cleaning staff are on site every day and have been tasked to follow specific coronavirus procedures to clean and sanitise the school to the highest possible standard.

covid 1

Classroom cleanliness

Hand sanitiser and wipes are available in all classrooms. Students and staff are asked to apply hand gel on entry and use wipes to clean shared equipment both before and after use.

covid 3

Book ban

All shelves in the Study Centre have been covered to help prevent the spread of the virus on books. Instead, pupils are encouraged to access the vast range of online resources available to them.

covid 8

Reduced movement

To minimise contact, movement around the school site is restricted. Each year group is allocated a zone and students are given a work space where they remain for most of the day.

covid 17

Chromebook devices

In support of flexible learning and limiting the use of shared equipment, BES is part of a scheme that enables pupils to buy their own devices to access the network while in school and also use freely at home.

covid 13

Kit and equipment

For the school to be able to offer the full timetable, whilst avoiding the use of shared equipment where possible, students are required to bring in the correct kit each day. See kit list →

covid 11

Cashless system

To reduce the risk of spreading infection, Bridgnorth Endowed is now a cashless school. All transactions, such as payment for school meals, will need to be made via the School Gateway system.

covid 10

Transport measures

Specific measures have been put in place to safeguard pupils who travel to and from school on the school minibus, public transport or local authority organised transport. Read more here

covid 14

School catering

A reduced selection of 'grab and go' hot and cold boxed lunches, priced at £2.50, are available to pre-order via the Aspens Services app. Bagged items will also be on sale at break times.

covid 15

Before and after school

Before and after school slots are available to pre-book up to 7 days in advance via the School Gateway system. Places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
