Figures released by the Department for Children, Schools and Families show that Bridgnorth Endowed School has moved up to be 8th of the 22 Local Authority maintained schools in Shropshire (13th of all secondary schools in Shropshire) due to an 18% improvement in GCSE results in 2009 (rising to 62% of pupils gaining 5 or more A* - C grades including English and Maths; the Governments preferred measure).

Phil Loveday, Headteacher, has attributed the success to the 'fantastic staff and pupils'. "There is a great team feeling within the school, and a positive learning ethos." "Staff are also being trained in the Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme (TEEP) this year which has taken a lot of extra work on their behalf but has really helped the development of our learning ethos. We are really looking forward to seeing what can be achieved in summer 2010"
