For Washbrook, activities included visits to Birmingham Imax Cinema for a 3D film showing ‘Creatures of the Deep’ followed by a visit to the Sea Life Centre, and a traditional Sports Day on Tuesday. Sports included Welly Wanging, Egg and Spoon, a Sack Race, knocking Coconuts off a Shy, a Dressing up Race and a Water Balloon Challenge.

Hardwicke students went to Severn Valley Country Park which included a talk from the Park Ranger, and visited the Black Country Museum where they also had a trip into the Coal Mine and through the Limestone Caverns.

Students in Rowley House were involved in team building with a talent show on Monday. Called ‘BEStival’ it involved all students taking a role in an aspect of the complete production from designing and selling merchandise and refreshments, stage set-up, backdrop, lighting, sound and finally to performing. On Tuesday there was a trip to the National Space Centre at Leicester.

Cluster activities included a Battle of Hasting re-enactment on Wednesday, Orienteering and cultural activities on Thursday, and activities and talks by guest speakers on Friday including Amnesty International.
Students had a number of Chinese related activities, which enhances their knowledge for the school partnership with Number 6 Middle School, Zhangjiakou. These included an introduction to the language and making Chinese lanterns.
The moment a rocket was launchedThere were 'land yacht' and 'rocket' design / build activities, the film 'Mulan' shown in French, 'Science in the Kitchen', and much, much more!

There were also week long trips to Paris, for some Year 8 students, and Colomendy Activity Centre, Wales for a number of students in Year 7.

Students in year 11 taking their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award undertook their final expedition in North Wales at the end of the week.
